Hill Signs With Shorter
Last Wednesday at Robert Toombs Christian Academy on National Signing Day, David Hill signed his letter of intent to play football for Shorter University in Rome, GA. Shorter is a Division II school that plays in the Conference Carolinas.
Hill said, “It feels like a dream come true. I feel like if I can do good here, I can take that next step to even bigger things. I really like the atmosphere at Shorter. The coaches were all great and really made me feel welcome. I feel like I can really prosper there. I really have to thank my Stepdad, who is also one of my coaches, all of my family for all the support to be a better me. All the rest of my coaches who have pushed me to be a better man, not just a football player, and all of my teammates.”
RTCA Assistant Coach and Hill’s Stepfather David Robbins stated, “I am excited as a parent, and even more excited as his coach. It is tough when you blend the two sides together, but this is just a great day. He has worked so hard and it has all paid off. He is going to have a great home at Shorter and we are excited and looking forward to great things.”
RTCA Head Coach Matt Meeks added, “David is just that kind of kid that does it right. He has tons of talent and is just a great young man. Really proud of what he has accomplished here, and it is going to be interesting to see how they use him at Shorter.”
