Members of the community gathered at Sweet Onion Social on Monday, February 12, for a night of friendly competition for a good cause at the first ever Vidalia Rotary Mega Bowl.

Over 20 teams, each comprised of 4 members, competed in the tournament, which raised over $2,000 for local scholarships and Alzheimer’s research. The competition took place in four lanes of the venue, as Mount Vernon Bank, The Bowling Queens, AgSouth, and continued from page

Ultimately, it was the Vidalia Rotary Team – “The Pinheads” – who came out victorious, as the Altamaha Bank & Trust Midnight Rollers followed in a close second. Eric Smith was the winner of the event’s 50/50 raffle, and the Bowling Queens were awarded the honors of being the event’s Best Dressed.

The Club issued a statement about the event, which shared, “The big winner of this event is the Vidalia community, who will benefit from these funds! Thank you to everyone who attended and participated – we can’t wait until next year!”
