Local Volleyball Plays In Elite 8
Local volleyball teams fall in Elite 8. The Vidalia High School and Toombs County High School volleyball teams both competed in the Elite 8 of the State Playoffs last week on the road. Vidalia was in Atlanta at Pace Academy while Toombs was at Gordon Lee.
VHS vs. Pace
Pace was in control throughout this match. They won the first set 25-2, took the second 25-9, and closed the series out with a 25-4 win in the third set. With the loss the Indians finish out what was a record setting year for the team in just their second varsity season. They not only made it to the Elite 8, but were the Area Champions, and finished the year with a record of 20-10.
TCHS vs. Gordon Lee
Toombs season came to an end as they took on the Trojans of Gordon Lee in Chickamauga last Wednesday. Toombs fell in the first set 25-4, lost the second 25-12, and the match ended in the third set with Gordon Lee winning 25-8. Toombs came out of the Area Tournament as the #2 seed and had a very good season as they also made it to the Elite 8. Toombs finished the year with a record of 13-14.
