Voter Registration Deadline Approaching

The deadline for voters to be registered in order to be eligible to vote in the upcoming local and state primary elections is on Monday, April 22.
Several contested races are on the ballot for county elections in Montgomery, Toombs, and Wheeler counties; nonpartisan seats and candidates from each political party will be decided through the upcoming election on Tuesday, May 21. These races include: Montgomery County
District 1 Commissioner: Jimmy Pedro Sharpe (R) vs. Angel Gilreath (R) District 2 Commissioner: Tim Williamson (R) (Incumbent) vs. Amie Alexandra Vassey (R); Stephanie Love Ivy (D) District 3 Commissioner: Ginger Byrd Morris (R) (Incumbent) vs. Charles Greg Palmer (R) vs. Charles “Charlie” Robison (R); Linda Jackson Page (D) District 1 Board of Education: Henry Price (Incumbent) vs. Richard Michael Lewis District 2 Board of Education: Susan Beard (Incumbent) vs. Andrea “Margie” Miller vs. Inna N. Edwards District 3 Board of Education: Fernando Rodriquez- Pacheco (Incumbent) vs. Allen Williamson District 4 Board of Education: Eugene “Pete” Ward (Incumbent) vs. Janice Nobles vs. Jonathan “Spanky” Hardeman Toombs County
Sheriff: Jordan Kight (R) vs. Wesley Walker (R); Rodney Wardlaw (I) Tax Commissioner: Jeandra Johnson vs. Anna Wommack Holcombe District 3 Commissioner: Darriel Nobles (Incumbent) vs. Daniel Caraway Coroner: Ronald V. Hall (Incumbent) vs. Kyle Wilkes Wheeler County
Sheriff: Randy Rigdon (Incumbent) vs. Glenn Giles Coroner: Ted Mercer (Incumbent) vs. Candy Day Purvis District 3 Commissioner: Keith McNeal (Incumbent) vs. Dustin Shane Purvis. To participate in the election, voters must be registered by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22. This date also marks the last day to submit a change of address form prior to the election so that voters’ polling precincts may be determined by their address.
