VRD To Host Swim Meet

The Vidalia Recreation Department's swim team will host their 33rd Annual VRD Swim Invitational this Saturday at the Vidalia City Aquatic Center. It is a huge event that sees over 150 swimmers compete on the day. This year there will be seven recreation departments from around the southeast that will be in Vidalia to compete in the Invitational. With ages 6-18, there will be a wide variety of events taking place. Each swimmer may swim up to six individual events plus swim in relays.

The Invitational begins at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday and will last till around 2:00 p.m. The day will kick off with a welcome from the city of Vidalia and the National Anthem, followed by the swim meet. Yumion will be on site, and former Vidalia City Superintendent Garrett Wilcox will be doing the announcing of the events.
