Lyons, Vidalia, and Montgomery County all took part in the 10u boys division of the 61st Annual Lyons Youth Tournamnt last week. Lyons played well throughout the tournament and walked away as the Champions.

Montgomery County and Appling County kicked off the tournament, with Appling winning the first game, 12-0.

Lyons and Vidalia both had a bye in the first round. In the second round, Vidalia fell in their first game to Evans County, 8-2, to send them into the losers' bracket. Lyons took on Candler County in their first game and won the game, 11-0.

In the losers' bracket, Montgomery lost their next game to Jenkins County, 8-0, to end their tournament run.

Vidalia faced off with Bulloch County in their next contest, and came away with the win. VRD won, 14-6, over Bulloch to advance to the next round. Vidalia then took on Glennville, and they won that game, 13-3.

But in the next round, Vidalia lost a one-run game to Emanuel County. It was a defensive battle with Emanuel scoring the only run of the game to take the win, 1-0, and end the VRD run in the tournament.

In the winners' bracket, Lyons won their next game over Emanuel County, 8-1, to move into the semifinals. In the semifinals, Lyons faced off with Appling County, and cruised to a 6-0 win. That put Lyons into the Championship Game.

Appling won in the semifinals of the losers' bracket over Evans County, 2-1, to make their way to the finals for a rematch with Lyons.

In the Championship Game, Lyons had no problems as they rolled to a 10-1 win over Appling to win the tournament.
