Partin Park hosted the 10u Girls GRPA District 1 Tournament last week with the girls from Lyons taking second place to move on to the State Tournament. The girls from Vidalia came in third place in the tournament, but just the top two teams move on.

LRD vs. VRD

The first game of the tournament was between the cross-county rivals. Lyons got the best of Vidalia as they came out on top, 17-13.

LRD vs. Effingham County Lyons also won their next game over Effingham County. LRD cruised to a 17-2 win to move into the semifinals of the winners' bracket.

VRD Losers' Bracket

In the losers' bracket Vidalia came back with a win over Rincon, 21-4, and then rolled over Effingham County, 16-8.

LRD vs. VRD

The wins from Vidalia set up a rematch in the semifinals of the losers' bracket. Lyons again came out on top, this time by the score of 20-6. That moved Lyons into the Championship Game against Emanuel County.

LRD vs. Emanuel County Championship In the title game Emanuel cruised to a win over Lyons as they took the title by the score of 155.

Lyons will play this week in the State Tournament at Effingham County. Lyons played Summerville in their first game of the tournament on Tuesday after presstime. If they make it to the Championship Game, that will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
