BPC Wrestling Kicks Off Season

The Brewton-Parker College Baron wrestling program took park in the Pepsi Patriot Open last week and then were back at home to take on Life University in a conference match on Saturday.

Brewton-Parker College's wrestling team, the Barons, participated in the high-stakes Pepsi Patriot Open Wrestling Tournament. The Barons saw a standout performance from Blake Walker, who led the team with a top 6 performance before reaching his match limit.
The Pepsi Patriot Open showcased several Barons exhibiting growth with four different Barons going 2-2 on the mats during the Open. John Arellano, Zahquel Davis, Thomas Crawford, and Morgan Johnston, all showcased their skills and hope to improve as the season continues taking their individual 2-2 starts as a foundation to improve upon.
vs. Life
In a challenging conference match on Saturday, the Brewton-Parker Barons wrestled against the Life University Running Eagles at Gillis Gymnasium, but fell short with a score of 4- 51.
Highlighting the event, Blake Walker from Brewton-Parker earned four points for his team during the 141 bout against Josh Denson, marking a notable performance despite the team's overall tough day. The dual meet score reflected the intensity and skill level brought by the Life University Running Eagles, who commanded the match from the start.
As Brewton-Parker College now stands at a 0-1 record for the season, the Barons look ahead to their next challenge which will be held on November 10, 2024, against Emmanuel University at Emmanuel's venue. The team is set on regrouping and returning stronger for the upcoming event.
