Indians Run At Infamous Carollton Course

The Vidalia High School Indians cross country team took the trip to Carrollton to compete on their notoriously difficult course on Saturday of last week. The Lady Indians had a good showing with Georgia Meredith taking fifth place overall. The boys also ran well on the tough course.

Girls

Meredith continues to impress with an outstanding performance. Meredith placed fifth in a field of 190 athletes with a time of 20.46. This is the second fastest of all times for this course for a female Indian, the fastest time also belongs to Meredith as she earned that spot last November at the State Meet.

Also competing well for the Lady Indians was Judith Hussey as she ran a time that will be a top 20 spot on our all time leader board as well if she can match or exceed this time at the state meet. Sadie Siegmund, Alana Claxton and Cannon Sharpton all ran exceptional races on this tough course.

Boys

The Indians ran well in Carrollton despite illnesses and lost shoes. The pack was led by Cash Driggers, with Abrien Anthony and Simon Collins following closely behind.

Anthony had an exceptional race, even after losing his shoe in the first mile of the race. Collins is having a breakout season and was just two seconds off his personal best on the most challenging course in the state.

Chamlee Evans, Liam MacGregor and Nick Foskey ran a hard fought race even though they were not feeling their best, their efforts showed true grit. Jordan Johnson is still new to cross country and shows his determination as he perseveres through 3.1 miles and always manages to impress.

The Indians will hit the road Thursday to compete in Jeff Davis at the Southern Georgia Championship.
