Schools Issues
Advisory
The Vidalia City Schools announced Monday that out of an abundance of caution and with a number of positive cases and quarantines at Vidalia High School and J.R. Trippe Middle School, beginning Tuesday, grades 6-12 will not return to in-person instruction until after the Christmas break.
Grades K-5 will continue to operate under the normal schedule through Friday.

January 6
The Toombs-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Legislative Luncheon sponsored by Optim Medical-Tattnall will be held Wednesday, January 6, at 11:30 a.m. at the Vidalia Community Center.
Speakers are Senator Blake Tillery, R-19, and Rep. Greg Morris, R-156. Tickets are $40.

America Day
December 19
Local residents are invited to gather at Lyons City Cemetery at 10 a.m. and at Lakeview Memorial Gardens on Georgia Highway 15 in Vidalia at noon to lay wreaths on the headstones of hometown heroes and to recognize their service.
