Brewton-Parker College has released the schedules for both men's and women's basketball.

Women

Brewton-Parker College is proud to announce the release of this year's 2024-25 Women's Basketball schedule. The Lady Barons will play 28 games this season and are excited to get their campaign underway on the road on October 28, at 6:00 p.m. against Southeastern University.

The Lady Barons play back-to-back road games, taking on Webber International University after Southeastern to start the season before having their home opener on November 4, at 5:30 p.m. in Gillis Gymnasium as they take on College of Coastal Georgia.

The Lady Barons are bringing back a few key contributors, talented transfers, and a solid freshmen class to put a formidable team on the court this season. The Lady Barons have back to back national tournament appearances. The women's program has 41 wins over the last two seasons. They look to continue to be a key contender in the SSAC and hopefully make a deeper run in the national tournament.

Head Coach Steve Edwards shared his thoughts for the upcoming season. ' We are super excited for this group. We believe we did a good job recruiting. We signed some proven transfers while also adding some gifted freshmen.'

The Lady Barons have some very talented players returning and asked Coach Edwards what having those players means to the program. 'We are fortunate to have one of the best players in our league, Angel McRae. She has been a staple in our program since her freshman year. She has been an all-conference player for three years, and we expect senior leadership from her.' The Lady Barons signed transfer guard Destiny Wright. She was the leading scorer and first-team all-conference selection in the SSAC in the 2022-23 season.

The Lady Barons have a great opportunity to steal some wins on the road at the beginning of the year, with five of their first six games on the road. This gives the Lady Barons the chance to enjoy a nice home stretch of games in December leading into the holiday season. The Lady Barons go back on the road for another back-toback on November 8th and 9th, taking on Bethel University and Campbellsville before going to Valdosta State University on November 12.

The Lady Barons have their remaining November slate with Point at home on November 14th before Spartanburg Methodist College comes in on November 18th. The Lady Barons will end November with another road trip, taking them to face Spartanburg Methodist in their barn and College of Coastal Georgia on November 23rd and 26th, respectively.

The Lady Barons have five straight home games in December where the Lady Barons will see Life, Bethel Freed-Hardeman, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), and Southeastern University all come to our house where the Lady Barons can use the support of our amazing fans to cheer them on. The month of December features only home games for the Lady Barons, and we hope to see you all there.

The New Year starts with two straight road games at Middle Georgia State University and Thomas University. The Lady Brons then rotate, coming home for one and then back on the road, taking on the University of Mobile at home and Life on the road. The Lady Barond then see a two-game home set with Loyola University and William Carey University coming in to end January.

The Lady Barons will face multiple conference opponents in February. They will start with Faulkner University on the road on February 1st before going to Point University on the 6th. Thomas University comes to the Lady Barons' court on the 8th. The Lady Barons then go on the road for three straight, facing Blue Mountain University, University of Tennessee Southern, and ABAC before ending the season at home on February 22nd against Middle Georgia State University.

Be sure to come out and support the Lady Barons in their home games this year. The rest of the schedule is here. The Lady Barons finished last year with 19 wins and a winning record both on the road and at home. We hope to see the Lady Barons continue that pattern this season.

Men

Brewton-Parker College is proud to announce the release of this year's 2024-25 Men's Basketball schedule. The Barons are playing 30 games this year, including two exhibition matches. The Barons hope to improve from last year and hope to start the season with a bang on November 1, against New College of Florida here in Mt. Vernon in Gillis Gymnasium. The Barons also play another home game against Carolina Christian College on November 2.

Head Coach Leonard Epps shared his thoughts on the schedule and the season with us: 'Scheduling is one of the most difficult things a coach has to do. Trying to get the right mix of non-conference opponents is tough, but I think we did a good job of competing against multiple conferences this year. Competing against schools in the Appalachian, Sun, and Midsouth conferences makes for a competitive schedule outside the league, where games are tough night in and night out. As a program, we look forward to taking that next step.'

The Barons will have to travel to Kentucky for two games after their home stand to start the year and face off against Campbellsville University and Lindsey Wilson College. The Barons alternate home and road stands throughout November, during which they play nine games to start the season. December sees the Barons going on multiple long road stretches, even leading into the new year. The Barons have exhibition matches scheduled for around the Christmas break with Kennesaw State and the University of West Georgia. The Barons will spend much of the new year in conference play as they ramp up for playoffs at the end of February and the start of March.

Be sure to come out and support the Barons in their home games this year. The rest of the schedule is available here. The Barons are looking to be a better team than they were last year and have high hopes for the upcoming season.
