Juvenile Arrested for Pawn Shop Burglary

One juvenile has been detained and two others have been identified in the recent burglary of Tom’s Pawn Central in Vidalia.

According to the Vidalia Police Department, officers were dispatched to the pawn shop, located at 500 East 1st Street, at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, in response to an alleged burglary. Upon arriving, officers and an oncall investigator probed the scene, collecting the surveillance footage of the incident. While reviewing the footage, members of the Vidalia Police Department Investigative Services Division recognized the 3 juveniles shown stealing from the store.

Investigators traveled to one of the juvenile’s homes and placed him under custody. While at the home, officers found several of the items which had been stolen from the store.

The captured juvenile was taken to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.

Officers successfully identified the other two juveniles, and the Department of Juvenile Justice has been contacted regarding the incident.
