Tough Week For Eagles
It was a tough week for the Eagles of Montgomery County High School basketball as they dropped both games to Wheeler County and to Citizens' Christian Academy.
Girls vs. Wheeler
It was all Wheeler in the girls' game in Alamo last Friday night. Wheeler pulled away early and went on to win the game over the Lady Eagles, 6627.
Boys vs. Wheeler
Wheeler jumped out to an 11-5 lead in the first quarter, but in the second, MCHS played better and closed that lead to 21-18 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Wheeler extended their lead to 39-28, and they went on to win the game over MCHS, 66-52. vs. CCA
The Lady Eagles struggled to get the offense going against the Lady Patriots. CCA took the lead and pulled away to a 51-26 win.
In the boys game, it was a battle to the end. The Eagles and Patriots went back and forth, but MCHS could not hold on to pick up the win, as CCA came out on top, 71- 68.
The Lady Eagles are now 2-16 on the season and are 0-7 in Region play. The boys are 5-13 overall and are 3-4 in Region play. This week MCHS will host Hawkinsville on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and they will be at Metter on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
