Tough Time For MCHS Eagles

It was a rough week for the Eagles baseball team of Montgomery County High School. They dropped two games to Hawkinsville and one to Atkinson County. vs. Hawkinsville

In the first game of the week on Tuesday in Hawkinsville, the Eagles were down early as the Red Devils put 11 runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Hawkinsville plated three more in the second inning, and then held on to win by that score after four innings by the run rule.

The Eagles' lone hit in the game came from Eric White. vs. Atkinson

MCHS was in Pearson on Wednesday. The Eagles had the lead as they put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning, but the Rebels scored three in the bottom half to take a 3-2 lead.

Atkinson added six more in the second, and six in the third inning as they extended their lead to 15-2. The Rebels closed out the game with two more runs in the fourth inning to take the win, 17-2. vs. Hawkinsville

The Devils scored a run in the top of the first inning, and then added four more in the third to take a 5-0 lead. MCHS did plate a run in the bottom of the second inning, but Hawkinsville answered in the top of the fourth as they held a 6-1 lead.

MCHS added another in the fifth inning, but one from the Devils in the sixth and five more in the seventh gave them a 12-2 win.

This week MCHS hosted Treutlen on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action at the Vikings on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
